One Crazy Summer
Have you ever seen this movie? Better question… have you ever heard of this movie?
Depends… you may have seen its Siamese twin "Better Off Dead".
This "comedy" was directed by Savage Steven Holland - creator of Eek the Cat.
Its kind of hard to describe this film. The plot is rather pointless but its still funny… in a weird way. If you are in the mood for something different this is the movie for you.
The roster does have some names - John Cusak, Demi Moore, Bobcat Goldwait and Bill Murray’s younger brother.
One Crazy Summer: Like I said… hard to explain… but there are cute fuzzy bunnies in it!
I describe this movie as one big elaborate set up for the Bobcat-Goldthwait-in-smoking-Godzilla-suit-stomping-on-model-city scene. And really - it’s worth it. You see it coming, but you don’t need to get out of the way. It’s really quite sweet.
I have one piece of One Crazy Summer trivia that’s cool. The guy who’s trying to win the radio contest, who gets blown up in the end? That’s the same guy who wrote the amazing sci-fi miniseries Wild Palms.
Yeah, weird.

I guess John Cuzack had a slight falling out with Savage Steve Holland, the director during this film. They filmed One Crazy Summer pretty much after Better Off Dead - Cuzack saw the film and flipped out! Accusing Holland of making him look like a fool. Guess he took his craft pretty seriously even back then!
